Lorcaserin is a fairly new introduction to the diet market, and it is given only as a prescription. Multiple clinical studies have been conducted on this ingredient and product since 2006, and each has shown relatively low levels of side effects and great appetite suppressing effects, because it targets the hypothalamus gland, which controls satiety and appetite.
Effectiveness: As far as we can tell from the studies, it is an effective appetite suppressant, the only problem being that's the only thing it does. It doesn't burn fat, increase appetite, etc. It just suppresses appetite. So it won't enhance the effectiveness of your workouts or really help you when your body begins to adjust to the smaller amount of caloric intake. It also doesn't help you to change your eating habits, i.e. stop eating fatty foods and start eating more nutrient dense foods. So its results are limited.
Ingredients: The only ingredient named in Lorcaserin is Lorcaserin Hydrochloride.
Safety: You should not take Lorcaserin obviously if you have a history of eating disorders. But Lorcaserin has also been connected with side effects including headaches, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, dry mouth, nasopharyngitis, urinary tract infection, pneumonia, kidney stones, clinical depression, and seizures
