Hydroxycut Hardcore was the first Hydroxycut product to seemingly break the standard mold. They theorized that "everybody needs a little help", and they used a team of professional body builders and researchers to promote it. They used various ingredients to target fat and help you to burn off the weight. Many of the listed ingredients were more severe or more likely to cause side effects than those listed in the regular Hydroxycut. However, we believe some of the smaller and more common side effects were less frequently reported, because either those taking this supplement expected some caffeine related side effects or they were more likely to have a higher caffeine tolerance. But they did still use yohimbine, which has been associated with heart attack, strokes, and seizures in the past, but not actually weight loss. But when Hydroxycut recalled 14 different products including but not limited to Hydroxycut Hardcore on May 1, 2009, in association with an official and severe warning from the FDA, some of the reported cases had to do with heart attack, strokes, and seizures. But some of the most frequent reports were of severe renal failure, which came to include one reported death. There were also reported cases of severe and rapid skeletal breakdown, which can result in the long term problems associated with kidney failure among other serious problems, and it is usually associated only with serious physical trauma or drug use. Being that Hydroxycut Hardcore already showed risk before, and that it is now on the list of recalled products, we would definitely not recommend buying it on the small chance that it should be reintroduced to the market. We would also recommend against buying any other Hydroxycut product at this time, recalled or not.
